About a year ago my husband asked me if I would be willing to take a course called Financial Peace University (FPU) that was being offered at our church. I was very hesitant about it. My DH is a type A, MBA and I am a free spirited MSW (social worker). When it came to talking about our finances; it was definitely like oil and water! But I could tell he really felt called for us to take this course and implement it into our lives. I now have to say, I love our budget and I love Dave Ramsey. You might have noticed the ad in the right sidebar promoting his book Total Money Makeover; he is the the creator of the FPU program. Dave makes gaining control over you finances, fun, easy to understand and totally attainable. Our family is now debt free (other than our house) and learning how to "live like no one else, so that we can LIVE like no one else."
My church will again be offering the FPU curriculum and I highly recommend the course. Here is some information for the program:
Financial Peace University (FPU) is a life-changing program that teaches you to achieve your financial goals by eliminating debt, saving for the future, and giving like never before. More than one million families have attended FPU with amazing results, including over 130 families from Worthington Christian Church so far. You will be challenged and motivated to make a plan for your money and change your family tree forever! FPU is a 13-session series that begins next month. We will meet on Sunday evenings from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM from September 12 through December 12. The cost is $99 per household for a lifetime membership to the class. Previous class members are always welcome to join us!
