We previously reported that the $2 Tide coupon in Sunday’s paper was going to make for overage on the trial size/single use packs. However, if you want to use this coupon on the trial size, it will beep and here is why:
According to Tide’s Facebook page, the Tide single use packets are not distributed by P&G, they are “outsourced” to another company. That is why the coupon beeps, it does not recognize the manufacturer as P&G. Tide says it is up to the store to decide if they are accepting the coupon on the Tide single serve or not.

Here are some questions I know many of you are thinking, “how are we supposed to know this P&G product is not really a “P&G” distribution? And is that weird or what!?
So I am not sure ethically how to handle this one. The Facebook post did not say that the stores will or will not be reimbursed if the stores “choose” to manually accept the coupon after the beep. So instead of trying to decide whether or not you want to give it a go, take a look at some great full size product match up prices. These are some of the lowest prices I have seen on Tide in a while anyway.
