We have mentioned before that certain items just don’t go “on sale”. So you have to watch for when stores run a promotion that will make the price lower. Tablets fall into that category. Staples is running a great promo on the Kindle Fire for 2 days only (2/19-2/20).
Buy a Kindle Fire, $199, and get a $25 Staples Gift Card. So after gift card it would be like paying $174. If you have any Staples Rewards saved up, this would be a great way to use them too. This offer is only available in store, not online.
There are also a few Free After Easy Rebate deals happening on Sunday and Monday only (in store only):
Staples 8.5x11Copy Paper, 500 sheet/ream, limit 2: ($5.49)- FREE after $5.49 Easy Rebate
Staples 4×6 Photo Paper gloss, limit 2: ($9.99)- FREE after $9.99 Easy Rebate
Staedtler Maxum Ballpoint Pens, assort colors, limit 2: ($5.99)- FREE after $5.99 Easy Rebate
Kleenex 200 ct box , 2pack, limit 2: ($2.99)- FREE after $2.99 Easy Rebate
Avery 8160 White Mailing Lables, 25 sheets, limit 1: ($12.79)- FREE After $12.79 Easy Rebate
Note: If you use Staples Rewards on these Easy Rebate items, you will not get back the full rebate amount. What will happen is the Rewards will come off as a “discount” divided among all your purchased products. That discounted price is what you will get back on the rebate. Just FYI!

When did the terms for their rebates change? In the past I had submitted my rebates thet had been paid with rewards and everything was paid in full. But today (2-29-12) they are offering me a reduced amount because I used rewards. Needless to say, I’m not very happy with Staples right now.

Not sure when they changed (def has been like this since before Christmas). That is why we mentioned it in the post. It has to do with the way that the rewards are used on the receipt, split up to be a “discount” on each item. Sorry you had a bad experience, I know that can be disappointing.
