From the time I can first remember, I was ALWAYS in the kitchen with grandma. She was never a fancy cook, but really excelled at the midwest favorite dishes and always put a tasty and nutritious meal on the table. When I got older, she was game to try any new recipe I found…sometimes with good results, and sometimes not-so-good. We would laugh and eat it anyway and either write it down on one of her cards and file it in the lucite recipe box or wad it up and throw it away!
