I’m pretty psyched to show off 2 deals I scored via a moms club of which I’m a member. One of the perks of this club is there’s an email group with a classifieds section. You see all kinds of things posted ranging from baby gear, to babysitters, to automobiles. Today someone listed a very new looking coffee table and an office chair. Both are in like new condition. I have been wanting to replace the lower level coffee table for a while and the office chair will probably be donated to a non-profit. I paid $25 for the coffee table and just $10 for the office chair. The owner was thankful to get them out of her house and I’m thrilled to have only paid $35 for both!
Consider shopping around the next time you need a big item. I paid less than 10% of what I would have paid for a coffee table! How often can you save that much? Not comfortable with Craigslist and don’t have the best experiences with garage sales? Consider local consignment shops that sell upper end furniture, sign up for a local club that has classifieds (like a parents group or neighborhood group), Find a buy/sell/trade group on Facebook or just start asking around. Think about organizing a group of friends for a purse/clothes/furniture swap. There are so many creative ways to save without a lot of work. Tell us how you’ve found your steals and deals.
