I have been checking out a new rewards/opinion program for a few months now, but got really serious about it within the last two weeks. I am soooo excited to tell you about this program. It's called EXPO (or ExpoTV). Basically, you upload video reviews of products and earn points. "Earning rewards is fun and easy! If you've got an opinion, you've come to the right place. EXPO members earn points, redeemable for great gear, by voicing their honest opinions about products they buy and sharing consumer experiences in video with the rest of the world." There are 4 main programs within EXPO and here is a little bit about each one:
SPECIAL INVITATION: Receive email invitations to participate in programs where you'll be asked to upload product reviews and share thoughts on seasonal topics. You'll be specially selected, so be sure to share your thoughts. Earn 300-500 points for each video. (I have reviewed Dawn w/Olay, Cascade Action Packs and was invited to a 2,000 point Kashi cereal program)
MOST WANTED: These are the product reviews we want the MOST. Check out the Most Wanted list every month and see if you own the latest products people are buzzing about. Submit a video review and earn big points! Earn 500 - 2,500 points for each video. (I reviewed an Xbox Kinect game, with my son playing in the background, and earned 1,500 points)
TRYOLOGY: Get free products to sample and review--sometimes before they hit store shelves! Learn more about the Tryology Program and see if you quality for any of our current programs. Earn free products. (I qualified to test Tide Washing Machine Cleaner. Right now they have a Tryology for men from Norelco giving away a $199 razor!)
At first I didn't use the program much because of the whole video uploading piece. But I got a new digital camera for my birthday that also can take short videos. Now the process is a snap! I record my video review (making sure to follow all the requirements and going at least 1 min) and upload it straight off the SD card onto the EXPO site. Within one week, I have earned 5800 points for 5 video reviews! So what does that 5800 points equate to? FREE GIFT CARDS and a lot of them! EXPO offers actual products and many gift cards through their rewards program. For 600 points you can get a $5 gift card to Amazon or CVS and at 3000 points you can get a gift card for just about anything: Amazon, VISA, Darden Restaurants, Nike, Red Robin, iTunes and the list goes on!
This morning I redeemed 1200 of my points for a $10 Amazon gift card (nice to stack onto my Swag Bucks earnings). By this afternoon I had an e-mail with the Amazon redemption code! $10 Free money, for not much time or effort!
I also have to share this funny story. You do sign a waiver that says the company of the product you are reviewing has the right to use your video. So if that doesn't sit right with you, this is not a good program for you. I don't mind- and a good thing too because I was contacted about my Kashi video. Kashi might want to use part of my video in a commercial! Ha! Even if it never happens, I just get a kick out of thinking it could happen! After I heard that, I make sure not be in my robe and put on make up for the videos I submit. ;) Check out my Kashi video before it hits a TV near you! LOL!
