Auntie Anne's Free Pretzel on Your Birthday

I am a sucker for a soft pretzel!  I have to admit, on my first free day (all 3 kids in school/preschool) I went to the mall and savored a Auntie Anne's pretzel that I didn't have to share.  So of course, I am all over the Auntie Anne's Pretzel Perks program.  Sign up and you'll receive a coupon for a FREE pretzel for your birthday, along with other opportunities for FREE dough and news throughout the year.

I am a traditionalist, my fave is the original.  What kids of Auntie Anne do you like?

Mail Call: What's in Your Mailbox

Here are the goodies I got in my mailbox today; Huggies 8 count wipes (+ $0.75 MQ), Toy Story Book from Band-Aid (+ MQs, Purell does not exclude trial!) and Free sample of Your Life adult gummie vitamins (+  MQ, wow that was a fast one, just submitted for it last week).  I was really surprised the book came, I was a bit sceptical on that one.

Friday means Mega Swag Bucks Day!

Today is Friday which means it is Mega Swag Bucks Day! That means Swag Bucks is giving away upwards of 400,000 Swag Bucks today - and you can earn anywhere from 30-1000 for one search.

What are Swag Bucks, exactly? They are electronic bucks that you earn for searching the web - something that most of us do every day right? You can then redeem these for items such as Amazon.com gift cards, Starbucks gift cards, Southwest Airlines credits plus more. Further increase your chances of earning bucks by referring friends, using the Swag Bucks toolbar, following the Swag Bucks Twitter stream, and reading the Swag Bucks Facebookpage and blog.

And did you earn the 23 Swag Bucks by entering the Cloud B sweeps on FB?  Check out the Special Offers wall for a few quick "bucks".  Also don't forget you can earn 4 bucks every day for the following: clicking thru the no obligation special offers (NOSO), answering the daily poll, having the tool bar installed and visiting the trusted surveys page.  Do the math, if you did these 4 things everyday for a year you could earn over $15 in Amazon gift cards!

ToysRUs $5 off $25 Printable

Seems like whenever I need a TRU coupon I can't find one.  I will definitely be printing this  $5 off any $25 Toys R Us purchase  coupon! There is quite a bit of fine print so read it carefully. Expires 9/26/10.

Thanks, Baby Goodbuys!

ALL YOU!

Have you heard about ALL YOU magazine yet?  This is a fabulous mag that provides all kinds of high value coupons.  It literally pays for itself.  I'm a total minimalist (Kristy...not Mary! Ha!) and I usually am not a magazine fan.  I find that I don't have time to read them and they add to the clutter so I avoid them.  Well, the school fundraiser came along and I (being a good PTA mom) had to buy something.  Guess what I picked?  All YOU!  Even better, it's just $1 an issue.  Considering it will PAY FOR ITSELF, I think this is an amazing deal.  Mary and I will provide our school fundraiser links just in case you might be interested in a subscription.  A win-win in my opinion.  You get a good deal and a public school gets 40% of the purchase price!
Do any of you subscribe to ALL YOU?  How do you like it?  Do you agree that it pays for itself?

Free Cold Stone Ice Cream on 9/30!

So our family does not usually go to Cold Stone Creamery (DH is not a fan).  But you know I can't pass up FREE food.  On 9/30 you can get  Free Cold Stone Ice Cream from 5pm - 8pm. This is part of their 9th annual World's Largest Ice Cream Social.

Every customer will be receive a Free 3 oz. Kate's Creation! (This mix is: Caramel Apple Ice Cream + Chocolate Shavings + Graham Cracker Pie Crust + Apple Pie Filling!)

You can also donate to the Make-A-Wish foundation if you'd like while you're there!

Thanks The Frugal Girls!

Groupon Online Deals: Shoebuy and Zazzle

Today there are some good online offers that anyone can take advantage of at Groupon. Look under the cities of Memphis, Lincoln and Sioux Falls to find a $40 certificate for shoebuy for only $20.   I love shoe shopping online!  No kids to corral and many sites, shoebuy included, are now offering free shipping (and free returns!).  I have had great experiences with shoebuy.  The certificate is good for a year and works on sale prices, so you have plenty of time to wait for the right shoe at the right price.

Looks like the Zazzle.com $25 for a $50 certificate is back via the city San Jose.  Last time this was up I wanted to buy it (to get $0.40 stamps), but did not because it said you have to pay for shipping (making the stamps $0.60 ea).  I read a few comments on blogs saying that some people were able to take advantage of the free shipping offer (ends 9-16) with their Groupon.  So I might risk it this time.  Let us know if you were able to apply the free shipping.  I would love to get discounted stamps, and with my cuties faces on them too!

Thanks, Common Sense with Money

Neutrogena Giveaway Winner and Rebate Tips

And the winner is....... Post number 25, Deanna G! Congrats and we will be contacting you soon for shipping info. :)

All your comments about mail-in rebates were great. But it looks like some of you have had some difficulty in the past. Here are some tips to hopefully make things go a little smoother next time:

• First and foremost, is the rebate worth your time and a stamp? Example, I once saw a $1 rebate on a $10 bottle of wine. After stamp, the mail-in rebate would have equated to a $0.56 coupon off the purchase price of the wine. Not worth it! On the other hand, if you have a product that is "free" (via coupons, Extra Care bucks, Register Rewards, etc..) to start with. Then the mail-in rebate will make you a profit! (like the Neutrogena from the giveaway).
• Start by keeping all your rebate information in one folder or notebook.
• Be sure to read all the fine print first. Do you need to send in the UPC or just write it in? When are the purchase dates?
• Take care of it right away. If possible, come right home and put the receipt and or UPC in your rebate folder. You don't have to fill everything out right away, but at least get things set aside before you forget.
• Make a copy or scan your receipt and the rebate form. (if you don't have a scanner, just take a picture of it)
• Make note of a phone number associated with the rebate and the day you mailed in the rebate so you can track how long it has been. Most rebates say you should receive payment within 6-8 weeks.
• If you haven't received it in 8 weeks, call. Just be aware that most companies use rebate processing agencies, so you probably won't be talking directly to the product company.
• Once you receive your rebate keep a running total to track your savings!
• Keep your eyes open for rebates everywhere. They are listed on company web sites, on hang tags directly on the product and in coupon inserts to name a few.

I hope some of these tips have helped. There may be the occasional bump in the road, but for the most part, mail-in rebates are a great money saving tool. I have cashed in $300 in mail in rebate checks so far this year.  Do you know of any great rebate offers, leave us a comment or send us an e-mail at [email protected].

Coupons.com Printables: Activia and Dannon

There are some great yogurt printables on coupons.com right now. Combine them with the sales this week at Kroger for great prices. I am not a huge yogurt fan, but the vanilla Activia is really good! I have been using it in place of my after dinner ice cream cravings. A decent replacement! Also, if you try it for 14 days and still don't like it they are offering a money back trial. So give it a try!
