Awesome Walgreens Trip: Cheap Diapers, Money Maker Gift Wrap and More!

UPDATE 12/11:  I just read that the Jingle Bucks are not printing on the Hallmark Wrapping paper anymore, just on Card purchases.  They must have fixed the glitch.  Sorry!

So I was very excited to go try the better than free Hallmark wrapping paper and tissue at Walgreens today. I also remembered reading a post about Walgreens brand diapers and training pants for $2.82 per package after BOGO sale and Jingle Cash.  I knew I could do these two deals together to really make great use of the Jingle Cash promotion this week.  Add in some great printable coupons and here is what I got!

Bought 6 Wags brand diapers and training pants

(some places these are ringing up as $7.99, my store rang $8.99): $53.94

Bought 2 rolls of Hallmark Wrapping paper: $1.99

Bought 4 packages of Hallmark white tissue paper: $1.34

Bought Crest Pro Health toothpaste: $3.49

Bought HP Black Ink: $17.99

Subtotal (pre-tax)= $78.75

- $8.99 Wags BOGO Sale Diapers

- $8.99 Wags BOGO Sale Diapers

- $8.99 Wags BOGO Sale Diapers

- $1 Wags Diaper Printable (use zip 90210)

- $1 Wags Diaper Printable (use zip 90210)

- $0.50 Hallmark Wrapping Paper at Wags Printable

- $1 Crest Toothpaste (mailer)

- $5 Jingle Cash (from last week)

Total OOP w/ tax= $46.41

Received $22.50 in Jingle Cash for next week!

$15 for spending $75 or more

$5 for 6 Hallmark purchases

$2.50 for Crest toothpaste

Grand total with all MQs, Wags Sales, and Jingle Cash= $23.91!

My manager told me that the BOGO diapers would not figure into my subtotal, but I decided to try anyway.  And he was wrong! You could probably get this deal even lower if you use more Jingle Cash items to get to the $75 threshold.  I just really needed the printer ink!  You could also get the diapers lower if you have access to multiple printers and can print 6 total.  I plan on using two packages for getting free Disney on Ice tickets (Columbus only), two for a diaper cake at my cousins baby shower and two for my own kiddos.

What excellent scenarios did you come up with?

$2.49 Zhu Zhu Pets at CVS Worked!

Good news!  I tried the 4 for the price of 1 Zhu Zhu pet deal at CVS and it worked!  That makes them $2.49 each!  Here is why it works.  They are on sale for B1G1 free.  So you buy one and the next rings up as "free", you buy the third and the fourth rings up as "free" (this is using your CVS ECB card).  Then you give them the B2G1 free coupon.  The coupon reads that you have paid for two and so it takes off the price of a third- $9.88.  Does that all make sense?

On my trip I also made use of the $3/$15 (expired 12/5) and some rainchecks I had.  It was a great CVS trip.  Here is the break down:

Zhu Zhu pet: $9.98

Zhu Zhu pet: FREE

Zhu Zhu pet: $9.98

Zhu Zhu pet: FREE

Herbal Essence Shampoo: $2.99

Herbal Essence Conditioner: $2.99

Eucerin: $6.99

Total (pre-tax)= 32.73

- $1 Eucerin (insert)

- $2 Clairol Herbal Essence (insert)

- $1 Herbal Essence (booklet)

- $3 CVS ($3/$15)

- $9.98 Zhu Zhu pet (printable)

Total(pre-tax)= $15.75

-$6.36 ECB (from Black Friday deals)

-$5.98 ECB (from Black Friday deals)

-$0.79 ECB (from Black Friday deals)

-$0.99 ECB (from Black Friday deals)

Grand total= $1. 63!

Plus $15.00 in ECB from Eucerin and Herbal Essence rainchecks to use on next trip!

*(if you are doing the math on my ECB you might see that the Herbal Essence rang up at the sale price of $2.99 this week, but the cashier still gave me the $3.99 ECB from the rain check!  So I actually got them for Free + $5 in overage with raincheck, ECB and coupons! Oh and you know I will also be submitting them for the P&G rebate!  Cha-ching!)

Let us know if the Zhu Zhu 4 for 1 worked for you!

Kristy just posted a great was to get Pictureka for free at Meijer.  If you do not personally need anymore games, remember their are lots of places to donate this time of year.  My twins just took two Hasbro games (that I got for a steal back during the TRU deal) to a Toys for Tots drop off.  They were really excited to get to put the games in the drop box.

If you find any other great match ups for these coupons, let us know!  T-minus 19 days till Christmas!

Columbus Groupon!!!

If you live in Columbus, Ohio, don't miss this deal!  It's a Groupon for Aveda Institute Columbus!  $35 worth of services for only $17!!!  Aveda offered a $25 for $12 back in June and I took advantage of the deal by purchasing 2 Groupons.  One I used for a haircut and the other covered a haircut AND eyebrow wax!  There are 2 locations, one on the Ohio State campus and the other on King Ave.  Be aware that each stylist has a different rate of charge depending on experience so ask when you make your appointment so you know what to expect.  Haircuts can range from $14 to $25.
I've personally been to the Aveda Institute a few times and have had wonderful experiences there.  I highly recommend them, especially with this deal!  Last time I was told that they sold over 2500 Groupons so I anticipate this one will be even bigger!  Let us know if you've bought an Aveda Groupon and what your experience was like.

Don't forget to use rebate sites:
Ebates : 3% cash back!!!
Big Crumbs: 6.4% Cash back!!

One Important Point:  No tipping allowed.  This is my favorite part of the Aveda Institute.  They don't take tips!  That saves mucho dinero.  From time to time they have a fundraising drive when they allow you to put a tip toward a certain organization or initiative but otherwise, save a little green that way too!

From Mary- I too have gone to Aveda before and thought the services were great.  Just be aware it might take a little longer than a usual service because they have to have advisors check their work.  But well worth the extra few minutes.

***Also, this deal is still available and it is still priced at $37.99.  This is by far the best deal I've seen on this one and I totally recommend this brush.  I've now been using it for 4 years and my dental hygienist has definitely noticed the difference in my teeth=less time at the dentist!  Love that!
