EXPO Tryology: Secret

I just got an e-mail today inviting me to take the screener for EXPO's newest Tryology for a secret new, Secret Product.  Tryology is a program where EXPO members qualify for product samples to test out and review - sometimes even before the product is available for purchase in stores. If you aren't a member of EXPO, JOIN TODAY!  Yesterday I posted about this amazing video review and rewards program.  My contact at EXPO tells me that even if you are not a member yet, you can still qualify for this Tryology.  And if you upload a video before the screener deadline, your chances improve exponentially!  Please note that you will be required to upload a video review if you qualify for the Secret Tryology.  But don't be intimidated, it really is easy!  Check out yesterday's post for more info on EXPO or e-mail us with any questions you have.  If you are a member of EXPO, we would love to hear your experiences with the program.

Deals on Mamapedia Today: Organizational Products, Parents Mag

There are several great deals on Mamapedia today.

First is a deal they have offered in the past, $15 for $30 worth of organizing tools from The Organized Parent.  Here is the fine print on this deal:

• Enter voucher code online at checkout 48 hours after receiving your voucher
• Not valid towards taxes or shipping
• Voucher must be redeemed in full
• Limit (2) vouchers per customer, but (1) voucher per transaction
• Expires May 1, 2026

The next is on a subscription to Parents Magazine.  Parents often as great coupons inside (recently I have seen posts about a $10 off Amazon purchase!).  Might be worth the cost of the subscription.  The deal is for $5 for one full year of Parents ($10 value) or $8 for 2 years (save 60%).  Here is the fine print on this deal:

• Must provide mailing address for subscription at checkout
• Valid for 1-year subscription only
• Valid for new subscriptions and renewals.
• Limit (1) per household. May purchase as gifts.
• Offer valid Jan 27-Feb 1, 2011 only.
• Will automatically receive subscription in 4-6 weeks after order placed.

I have also seen a Mamapedia promo code out there for first time buyers.  I am not sure if it is specific just for the Parents  Magazine deal or if it would work on any first time purchase.  Enter COUPONCAB4 on the Mamapedia checkout page to save $4.  That will bring your 1 year subscription to Parents down to just $1.  Let us know if it works for the other deals as well!

This store is located at Polaris Fashion Place.  I was just in there last week with my mom and sister.  We were amazed at all the fun stuff Sweet & Sassy offers to a young girl  as well as girls as old as  Tween-agers.  As my daughter is turning 7 in just 2 WEEKS I think I will be splurging on this fun Groupon for her.  It makes for a great mom-daughter day or a girls day out!  Who knows?  We might get her ears pierced as she has been begging for it. Let us know if you grab this Groupon or if you have experience with Sweet&Sassy!!

Mega Swag Bucks Friday!

Today is Friday which means it is Mega Swag Bucks Day! That means Swag Bucks is giving away upwards of 400,000 Swag Bucks today - and you can earn anywhere from 30-1000 for one search.  So get searching!

What are Swag Bucks, exactly? They are electronic bucks that you earn for searching the web - something that most of us do every day right? You can then redeem these for items such as Amazon gift cards, Starbucks gift cards, Southwest Airlines credits plus more. Further increase your chances of earning bucks by referring friends, using the Swag Bucks toolbar, following the Swag Bucks Twitter stream, buying your Groupon via Swag Bucks, watching videos on Swag Bucks TV, reading the Swag Bucks Facebookpage and blog.

Let us know if you win any big bills!

The newest way to earn Swagbucks is by playing Free Games.  These  Flash Games are a great way to chill out and earn Swag.   I played Rock n' Ball.  Note, you will not get bucks everytime you play.  Like Swag TV, you will only earn bucks randomly.  What do you think of this new aspect of Swag Bucks?

Pampers Deal @ Target!

Of course I love a great deal but once in a while I get a little nervous that I might not take advantage of it to its fullest or that just maybe I might forget about that Groupon or Restaurant.com GC.  Thankfully today, I was able to use my DealPulp Target GC ($10 Target GC for $2) on this box of wipes above!  It is one of the Target Daily Deals for $12.  If you buy two boxes they take 15% off and your final total is $20.40 or $10.40 a box!  I used my DealPulp $10 GC (no longer available) along with a gift card from Christmas.  This made for a sweet deal and I can breathe a little easier that I won't forget about the DealPulp deal.  How do you keep track of those deals and gift cards?  Give us your tips!

Also, don't forget to use Ebates to get 3% back or ShopatHome to get 5%!!!

AWESOME Rewards Program : EXPO Video Reviews

I have been checking out a new rewards/opinion program for a few months now, but got really serious about it within the last two weeks.  I am soooo excited to tell you about this program.  It's called EXPO (or ExpoTV).  Basically, you upload video reviews of products and earn points.  "Earning rewards is fun and easy! If you've got an opinion, you've come to the right place. EXPO members earn points, redeemable for great gear, by voicing their honest opinions about products they buy and sharing consumer experiences in video with the rest of the world." There are 4 main programs within EXPO and here is a little bit about each one:

SPECIAL INVITATION: Receive email invitations to participate in programs where you'll be asked to upload product reviews and share thoughts on seasonal topics. You'll be specially selected, so be sure to share your thoughts. Earn 300-500 points for each video. (I have reviewed Dawn w/Olay, Cascade Action Packs and was invited to a 2,000 point Kashi cereal program)

MOST WANTED: These are the product reviews we want the MOST. Check out the Most Wanted list every month and see if you own the latest products people are buzzing about. Submit a video review and earn big points! Earn 500 - 2,500 points for each video. (I reviewed an Xbox Kinect game, with my son playing in the background, and earned 1,500 points)

TRYOLOGY: Get free products to sample and review--sometimes before they hit store shelves! Learn more about the Tryology Program and see if you quality for any of our current programs. Earn free products.  (I qualified to test Tide Washing Machine Cleaner.  Right now they have a Tryology for men from Norelco giving away a $199 razor!)

DAILIES: You can upload video reviews of any products you care about! Select any product you want and tell us what you think--good or bad.  Every video uploaded is a chance to win, so upload a new one every day. (Right now the prize is a flip video camera)

At first I didn't use the program much because of the whole video uploading piece.  But I got a new digital camera for my birthday that also can take short videos.  Now the process is a snap!  I record my video review (making sure to follow all the requirements and going at least 1 min) and upload it straight off the SD card onto the EXPO site.  Within one week, I have earned 5800 points for 5 video reviews!  So what does that 5800 points equate to?  FREE GIFT CARDS and a lot of them!  EXPO offers actual products and many gift cards through their rewards program.  For 600 points you can get a $5 gift card to Amazon or CVS and at 3000 points you can get a gift card for just about anything: Amazon, VISA, Darden Restaurants, Nike, Red Robin, iTunes and the list goes on!

This morning I redeemed 1200 of my points for a $10 Amazon gift card (nice to stack onto my Swag Bucks earnings).  By this afternoon I had an e-mail with the Amazon redemption code!  $10 Free money, for not much time or effort!

I also have to share this funny story.  You do sign a waiver that says the company of the product you are reviewing has the right to use your video.  So if that doesn't sit right with you, this is not a good program for you.  I don't mind- and a good thing too because I was contacted about my Kashi video.  Kashi might want to use part of my video in a commercial!  Ha! Even if it never happens, I just get a kick out of thinking it could happen!  After I heard that, I make sure not be in my robe and put on make up for the videos I submit. ;)  Check out my Kashi video before it hits a TV near you!  LOL!

OK, I know that was a lot to process. If you have any questions about EXPO, please e-mail us at [email protected].  I just cannot say enough good things about this program so far!  Anyone else a member and want to give us your opinion? (no need to video review it!).

My Target Run!!!

Look at my score at Target today!  So psyched!  I've been hunting down these Finish dish washing products all over town.  I was finally able to find them at Target.  I paired a Target coupon and stacked it with the high value $2.25 coupon that was in Smart Source on 1/16.  I had a Hungry Jack  (Hungry Jack not pictured because my daughter insisted on breakfast for dinner) coupon that made it almost free!  The Vitamin Waters were free because I had a $1 off one (cash register print out coupon) and a BOGO coupon.  Vitamin Water is priced at $1 this week!  The yogurt was free from a coupon sent in the mail by Yoplait.  The Target brand steak sauce was only $1.27 and the verde salsa was just a big fat splurge, priced at $2.99.  I don't feel so bad when I know that I've saved on everything else. Almost half my Target bill was my schmancy salsa.

All of this?  $6.42!  Not bad.

And how did I reward myself?  I used the coupon posted on the Einstein's Facebook site for a free bagel thin & schmear with drink purchase.  My price?  $1.79!

Groupon: $12 for $25 Worth of Love Stamped Jewelry

I am supper excited about the Groupon I just scored.  Remember I told you about the $5 credit e-mail I received from Groupon last week.  Well, if you got one too, make sure to check the expiration date.  Mine expired today.  So I really wasn't interested in The Raffiel's Salon certificate (although I have gone there and it is an awesome salon) or the CoCo Key's passes.  I searched some of the other cities and found El Paso was offering $12 for $25 worth of personalized jewelry from Love Stamped.  Jack-pot!  I have been wanting to get one of these necklaces for months.  Even at the regular Groupon price it is still a great deal (Valentine's Day is coming peeps!).  But of course I did even better.  My credit applied and my total came down to $7!  AND.. I also shopped via Swag Bucks to make it even better!  I saw my 280 Swag Bucks added with in minutes (remember that equates to just over $3 in Amazon money).

So go use your credit, get a great gift (for yourself or someone you love) and get 280 swag bucks too!

Anyone else shopped Groupon via Swag Bucks?  Did it work for you?

Excessive Amounts of Lead Found in Reusable Grocery Bags

I am not proud to say, I am not very "green".  But the one "green" thing that I do is to use reusable grocery and shopping bags.  But oh no!  Looks like many of these bags are being found to contain high levels of lead.  A few months ago CVS had to do a massive recall on their green bags.  I have been having a Facebook discussion with several of my mommy friends on this matter.  Take a look at the Center for Consumer Freedom's report.  It even shows pictures of the highest offenders (Safeway, CVS and Walgreens to name a few).  Most often the major culprit of the lead levels is the insert in the bottom of the bag.  It looks like Kroger and Target fall pretty safely below the 100 ppm lead limit (although the Target inserts are pretty close).  So the moral of this story- when in doubt, throw it out.  Or at least the plastic inserts, they are a pain anyway! ;)
